Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service

The City of Edinburg’s Juneteenth Committee, in conjunction with UTRGV Center for Student Involvement, will host an MLK Day of Service with a “Clean Up” at the Restlawn Cemetery at 1122 North Jasman Road in Edinburg, Texas.
The Historic Restlawn Cemetery, located in the northwest corner of Hillcrest Cemetery, is the burial place established for African Americans in Edinburg in 1928. It will be the site for a tribute to the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday, January 15, 2024 from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M., celebrating the nationwide ‘MLK Day of Service.’ On that day, volunteers will help clear debris and paint fencing to restore the cemetery’s appearance.
